Testimonials

I had been suffering with back pain for many years, trying NHS Physio, chiropractors etc. where I started to finally give up and accept the pain. However in December 15 it got much worse to the degree that it hurt to stand or sit or doing anything and was affecting my day to day life. I started worrying at the age of 25 that I was never going to be pain free and normal again or worrying it was something worse.

I then went to a private hospital for various tests all looking for the worst case and once these all came back negative I was later referred to a specialist for back pain “James Davis”. I have only had 7 sessions with James and I am almost back to my normal self. I have to admit when I was first referred to James/physiotherapy I was sceptical because I have been to NHS physio before and it never helped. How glad I am that I gave my referral a go and met James.

Thank you so much for all your help James. Your knowledge in my back pain and knowing everything that helped has been tremendous help and the relief now from not letting back pain rule my life. Thank you for helping me feel like a young person again and given me my youth back. I honestly didn’t think I could go a minute let alone a day without thinking about the pain or letting it rule me.

I will continue with all the exercises and knowledge you bestowed to me and if I ever have problems again won’t hesitate to call you.

I could confidently and highly recommend James to other sufferers. His knowledge in chronic lower back pain is amazing. If you are as sceptical as I was prior treatment, try a session and you won’t leave without booking another and be on the road to a pain free life again.

I have learnt so much and Peter presented in a way that was easy to follow. It was very relevant and made it easy to transfer skills into clinical practice. I had gone very much into CBT in my practice and understood all the key themes, but will now increase my focus on just getting patients moving again and feeling free and trusting. Be a bit more hands-on for reassurance and facilitation. Absolutely fantastic. Thanks.

Great course. Food for thought. This will definitely impact and change my practice.

Excellent course. Really inspirational. And motivating going back into clinical setting. Will definitely be back.

As a newly qualified physio this really does feel like the missing link between treating acute problems/dysfunction effectively, and having the same outcome with those chronic backs. Being shown how to directly address those psychosocial factors, I feel is going to massively improve my effectiveness. It seems clear why we/the health care system find it so difficult to manage such a large proportion of patients who need us, and how we can begin to do so.

Brilliant course. It just makes sense. I have come away after 3 days with a completely different mindset. I have been on courses before but found it difficult to transfer my learning to the clinic setting but by the case studies this is a lot more transferable.

I am completely thrilled. The course has changed my thinking, my focus and beliefs. Made me start planning what I’m going to do when I return to my clinic – how to transform these skills in practice – how to disseminate this knowledge to my colleagues and change practice. Great journey. Thank you for the opportunity.

From early training I have had a growing sense of dissatisfaction with Physiotherapy as a profession and my ability to understand or explain the underlying mechanisms driving pain for my patients – until today. When you were asking your patients it all made sense.

‘Career changing course. Empowers practitioners to empower patients. Simplifying a complex problem’.

I have known James for many years, since 1992 in fact when he first came to work with me at Essex CCC after four years at Lords, on the recommendation of some of my players at the time. Physios in cricket spend a lot of their time looking afer bowlers and batsmen but fortunately I had just a few occasions to call upon his expertise when I was playing for Essex and England. I have used him more since I retired from playing cricket and he has always sorted me out quickly especially when I was the batting coach for England.
His approach to physiotherapy is very different and far more effective than other forms of physiotherapy, and I have seen a lot in my time, because he always treats the cause so that your pain or problem goes within a few treatments. James does not use machines but relies on his skills to assess movement problems and then gives the right exercises to get you better. I know he looks on the world stage for effective treatments with strong professional ties with Australia.

Nothing is too much trouble for him and if he feels the solution is not a physio thing he has an excellent network of medical consultants to call upon who can resolve the problem quickly. In professional sport it is vital to have someone to rely on to get you or the players under my jurisdiction better quickly and James seems to do that efficiently and without fuss. That is why I send my family along to him when the need arises and so I would thoroughly recommend anyone to use him. Thanks for all your help James, I really appreciate it. Graham Gooch, former Captain & Coach of Essex CCC and England cricket teams
